I have been exceptionally blessed in life in knowing incredible people. Grandparents and parents in their nineties, a gaggle of aunts, uncles, seemingly countless cousins, amazing friends, sisters I cherish, nieces and nephews, golf buddies for decades, mentors, wonderful colleagues, beloved children and grandchildren, it truly almost seems biblical in the beautiful ones God has sent my way. Maybe I needed all of them as reminders of the purpose in life- finding ones way home.

It seems we live in a world with endless distractions from home not as a place but a way of being. Over attachment to work or wealth or activity or politics or the ways of the world loom large in keeping us confused or astray. When wandering too far it seems there was always a person or conversation that reminded me of the narrow but better path. Balancing self care with care for others, balancing achievement with presence, balancing activity with solitude- all have been challenging periods in the journey home. Easter is the consummate reminder and example of this journey, beyond death to rising and new life!  We hope and believe He makes a place for us, not only in the next life but this one as well. I’m with Dorothy in the wizard of OZ, “Toto, there is no place like home !”  Happy Easter, blessed homecoming.
